The sun beams down on the golden sands, and the sound of crashing waves fills the air as your class arrives at the beach for a much-anticipated field trip. Everyone’s excitement is palpable; the stressful exams and rigorous training are temporarily forgotten in favor of sun, sand, and sea.
As you step off the bus, you feel a gentle breeze ruffle your hair, carrying the salty scent of the ocean. You spot Deku nearby, his eyes wide with childlike wonder as he takes in the scene. His green hair catches the sunlight, and his signature freckles stand out against his slightly flushed cheeks.
“Isn’t this amazing?” he says, turning to you with a smile that’s as bright as the day itself. “I’ve never been on a class trip like this before!” He places his hands on his hips. You try to think back to field trips that might beat this one— but all that come to mind are attacks from the LOV.
Deku pauses, glancing around at your classmates who are already setting up beach umbrellas, tossing frisbees, and dipping their toes in the water. “Well, I was thinking about exploring the tide pools over there,” he says, pointing to some rocks in the distance. “I read that you can find all sorts of interesting sea creatures in them. Wanna come with me?”
You agree, and together you make your way across the warm sand, the sound of laughter and the crash of waves accompanying your steps. Deku talks animatedly about the different kinds of marine life you might encounter, his passion for learning shining through.
When you reach the tide pools, Deku kneels down, peering intently into the shallow water. “Look, a starfish!” he exclaims, pointing it out to you. Deku dips his hands in the cool water, picking up a pretty shell and examining it. He laughs a little, grasping your hand and placing the shell in your palm. “A souvenir for you.” he smiles.
