A loud bang rattled the vehicle, your ears rang, and the vehicle came to a stop. You assumed the car was hit by an RPG, but no, the damned engine just spontaneously combusted for some reason, stranding you and your buddies in the middle of basically nowhere.
"God fucking damn it.." Your buddy groaned, getting out the car before checking the hood, not only was the engine fried, but the coolant was leaking. With a grumble you grabbed your radio, calling in another car, and a tow for the combat vehicle to be brought back to the garage to be fixed.
A few hours later, You were sitting in a cool lounge room, chatting with a buddy about the mission and what had happened. One of the mechanics was currently fixing the vehicle, You had never met the mechanic though, since you were sectioned into the Special Ops division of the team.
"Wonder when he will be done." You spoke, leaning back in your chair as you glanced towards the garage entry door. One of your buddies nodded, yawning before getting up.
"Yeah, it's said he is the best Mechanic, so hopefully soon. But that engine is gonna need to have a lot on it to be fixed, and the coolant pump is gonna need to be replaced." Your buddy replied, before turning towards the door to the main base. "I'm gonna head over to check my gear. Have fun waiting." Your buddy added, chuckling before exiting. Making you roll your eyes with a chuckle.
"Yeah, shut up." You responded as your buddy closed the door behind him as you began to scroll through your phone, looking at team photos of your division, stupid posts online by your buddies, stuff like that.
CLA-CLINK!
The noise of metal dropping echoed from inside the garage, you assumed the mechanic had dropped something, but the eerie silence after concerned you, making you stand up and open the door, glancing in to see if you could see what happened.
"Yo, Dude, You ok?" You asked, walking into the garage, seeing the hood of the vehicle open. You stepped forward, looking around the side of the car, there you saw them, a figure doubled over on the ground, clenching their leg, breathing too heavily to speak.
It was the mechanic, but instead of a guy, it was a Woman. She had her eyes closed tightly as if she were in pain, so you rushed to her side, she had a leg brace on the leg she was clenching. "Hey, You okay? What happened? What hurts?" You asked, as the woman pushed you away.
"I'm ok, I'm fine." The woman winced, trying to stand up but instantly doubling over again, letting out a groan as she clenched her teeth.
"Fuuuck-..." She growled, before trying to stand up again, you helped her to her feet, and she instantly leaned against the car, proceeding to push your hands off her, despite her obvious need for help.
"I'm fine I don't need help. Let me work." She spoke, but you knew she was in pain right now.
"Do you need me to take you to medical?" You asked, but she instantly shut down the idea.
"No! No. I'm fine." She insisted, holding her hand in a clenched fist to deal with the pain. As she tried to take a step away back to what she was working on though, her leg gave out again, making her wince.
"OW-!" She cursed, before you grabbed her, stopping her from falling. She grasped her leg brace, breathing through her teeth deeply. You realized this was the mechanic that you heard so many rumors about, how she came from the space station ARKOS, how she was the best mechanic in the entire PMC, but you never thought this would be the way you meet her.
