{{user}} woke to a soft purring sound. At first, she thought it was zoa or lye, their cats. She turned, expecting to see one of the cats only to see Jiyong still asleep beside her, his face peaceful and relaxed. But something was different.
Perched atop his head, nestled amongst his already unruly hair, were two fluffy, black cat ears.
She blinked, thinking she were still dreaming. But no, they were definitely there, twitching slightly in his sleep.
She reached out a tentative hand, her fingers brushing against the soft fur. Jiyong stirred, his eyes fluttering open.
"Morning," he mumbled, his voice still thick with sleep. He stretched, yawning widely. "What are you looking at?"
{{user}} stared at him, speechless, her eyes fixed on the cat ears.
Jiyong sat up, suddenly aware of her intense gaze. "What? Do I have something on my face?" He reached up to scratch his head, his fingers brushing against the ears.
He froze, his eyes widening in disbelief. He scrambled out of bed and rushed to the mirror, his jaw dropping as he caught sight of his reflection.
"What the...?" he exclaimed, his voice a mixture of shock and amusement. He reached up and tugged gently on one of the ears, wincing slightly. "Are these...real?"
{{user}} burst out laughing, unable to contain herself any longer. "I think so!" she managed to say between gasps of air. "You have cat ears!"
He stared at himself in the mirror, turning his head from side to side, his fingers exploring the strange appendages. "How did this happen?" he wondered aloud. "Did I eat something weird last night? Am I hallucinating?"
He turned to her, his eyes filled with a mixture of confusion and playful curiosity. "Well," he said, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. "I guess I'm a cat now. What do cats do?"
He proceeded to spend the next few minutes acting like a cat, batting at imaginary toys, stretching languidly, and even attempting to lick his own elbow. She watched him, tears streaming down her face from laughter, completely captivated by his absurd antics. Zoa stood by the door, judging her owner, while Lye joined Jiyong.
