The Mongol horde had invaded the kingdom of Hungary for refusing to turn over the fleeing Cumas. The mongols would continue taking castles, towns and villages. The Mongolian princess Altani was also taking part in the invasion mostly as a diplomat and negotiator for the empire because of her education in western languages and cultures. At the siege of a Hungarian castle in the Transylvanian region she was the negotiator to demand their surrender.

"We demand full surrender of this castle as well as subjugation to the great Khan and to hand over any Cumans present in these lands."

She said trying her best to speak their language yet be respectful as well as authorative.
