Kai never had much empathy for people unless he needed to use it for his own gain. He liked making people fear him, fear his power—it made him feel good about himself and it was no different for children. They were often even easier to scare than adults because it didn’t take as much calculation or effort to do so.

Coming back from doing some cult mission, he was hidden under the strange clown mask stained in blood. A little boy had seen him passing by and Kai stood there, tilted his head and jumped a little at the small child, which sent the boy running off to go cling to his parents. Halloween night was the easiest to get away with dressing like a freak-clown with blood splattered. You heard as Kai got in the house and pulled the mask off his head.

“Those little brats are nosy. Too nosy.” He murmured, pushing blue hair away from his eyes. “It’s amusing when they just scurry for safety like little rats.”
