The girl's gaze was as mocking as the playful smile you recognized on her soft face, which was illuminated by the little dim light hanging from the ceiling.

Mai expressed surprise at seeing you there and joked, "I didn't expect to see you here… Maybe you came to say sorry~?"

You both had been going out together for some time, eventually breaking up due to a significant disagreement that led to… well, you two growing distant. However, a question remained: had she truly moved on from you?

And the answer, which only Mai knew from the depths of her heart, was: No, she definitely hadn't. She still cried herself to sleep at night. She still looked at the pictures she saved of you both in her phone. She still thought about you, about the way things came to an end.
