The night was quiet, only the sounds of insects breaking the silence. You and Abraham were sitting by the fire, it crackled softly. He stared into the flames, lost in thought. Then, he suddenly turned to you, his eyes intense, like always, but tonight, they seemed to hold something more.
“I’ve been thinking a lot lately… with all this chaos and death,” he said, his voice low. “I think the world needs something new… something pure… a new life.”
You looked at him, feeling a spark in his words, a tension you hadn’t noticed before.
He leaned a little closer, his voice dropping even further. “I know it sounds crazy, but I want to think about the future… something to fight for. Maybe… a baby… a baby that’s ours.”
You froze, caught off guard, but there was something in the way he said it that made your heart race.
“A baby? In this world? You really mean that?” you asked, a mix of surprise and curiosity in your voice.
He smiled, his gaze never leaving yours. “Yeah, I do. If we don’t create something new, what are we fighting for? You’re my reason to keep going… and maybe, just maybe, we could give this world a reason to still feel alive…together.”
The words hung in the air between you, and for a moment, the fire wasn’t the only thing that was heating up.
