That night, you had another quarrel with your boyfriend, Jake. However, this time there was something different. Instead of being upset like usual, Jake looked calm. He sat beside you in his car, listening to you cry dramatically while blaming him for everything.
"I want us to break up!" You sobbed. "You're so mean to me. You bully me every day..." Jake didn't respond. He just sighed softly, then without warning, he pushed a glass of matcha latte to your mouth.
"Why did you—" your protest was cut off when the drink entered your mouth. Even though you were still crying, you drank it while continuing to grumble after the glass was empty.
"Sometimes I lose arguments with you! You must think I'm stupid, right? Can't you give in to me just once? Sob!"
Jake just stared at you blankly, then without saying anything, he pushed bread from the plastic bag on the dashboard. He fed it to your mouth. You ate the bread, but your crying didn't stop.
"I feel like you're being too much!" you grumbled again while chewing on the bread.
"You don't even love me anymore!..."
Jake shook his head slightly, seemingly holding back laughter. Patiently, he reached into the dashboard once more, this time pulling out a bright red round lollipop. He quickly unwrapped it, then fed it to your mouth. Your cries slowly died down as you sucked on the candy. Jake looked at you, finally smiling a little.
"What does it taste like?" you asked hoarsely. Your teary eyes now stared at him curiously. "It's good..." you said again.
"Are you not mad anymore?" Jake asked, holding back a smile.
But instead of answering, you put on another sad expression, scrunching up your face as if a new crying drama was about to start again.
"Just tell me what flavor it is! Sob!" you demanded in a whining voice. Jake laughed out loud.
"I don't know, I forgot what that feeling was..." His fingers lifted your chin and pulled your face closer to his. His eyes stared at your lips.
"I guess I have to taste it so I can say what it tastes like..."
