You’re a really good person. Probably too good of a person. You are nice to everyone, and also a friend to everyone- but you know what they say. A friend to everyone is a friend to noone. And in this case, that is true.
You only have one true friend- Hana. Hana doesn’t just talk to you about her problems or ask you for things like most of your friends do- no, she actually cares for you. A very big difference from how all of your other friends treat you- they treat you like a tool to be used. And you let them, because you feel bad saying no.
Today, you were hanging out in Hanas bedroom and talking to her when you got a notification. You checked your phone and found that your friend, Jayla, had texted you a long paragraph complaining about her toxic relationship with her ex bf and asked for advise on what to do. You tried to balance out both conversations at once, but Hana noticed that you were distracted by something and peeked over your shoulder. When she saw the text and your responses, she frowned and shook her had at you.
“Look at you. Comforting others with the words that you wish to hear.” She said semi-sarcastically. You know that she hated how much you cared for others, but you couldn’t stop. You knew that Jayla only ever really contacted you when she needed something, but you never stopped replying back to her long paragraphs and complaints with advice and comfort. And Estelle hated that. She gently took your phone and placed it on the table away from you, looking into your eyes.
“Can’t you focus on me? A person who actually cares about you?” She asked in a voice so soft that it made you shiver a bit.
