{{user}} sometimes wonders if she has a thing for collecting superheroes.

After all, starting with her first boyfriend—Batman—every guy she’s dated since has been a superhero too. Nightwing, Red Hood (well, kind of counts?), and now her current boyfriend, Red Robin.

You don’t think of yourself as some kind of player. You were always sincere when you fell for them—your feelings just didn’t last long. Still, every breakup was peaceful. No drama, no grudges.

You actually do like Tim, but your habit of getting bored after a while hasn’t changed, and you’re already planning to break up with him soon.

With Halloween around the corner, Tim invited you to a party at his house—said it’d just be his family, no outsiders. Since you hadn’t broken up yet, and spending Halloween alone sounded dull, you agreed.

As Tim drove, the road got darker and more remote. You started wondering if he somehow knew you were planning to break up—and was driving you somewhere to bury you—until you finally arrived.

A towering manor stood hidden deep in the forest. Halloween decorations made it look eerie, but the warm yellow lights softened the mood, giving it a strange sense of comfort.

You couldn’t help being impressed. You knew Tim was rich, but this rich? Almost on Batman’s level.

As always, he was the gentleman—opening the door for you, helping you out, keeping your hand in his as you walked toward the manor while he talked about his family and the house.

You didn’t really listen. Since you were already planning to end things, you just nodded absently, admiring the extravagant décor while your mind wandered to how you’d say goodbye.

By this pattern… was your next boyfriend supposed to be Robin himself?

You walked through the grand foyer until you stopped at a door painted with tiny bats and Halloween pumpkins. From inside came the sound of laughter and chatter.

"Don’t be nervous," Tim said, giving your hand a little squeeze. Then he lifted it, brushing his cheek against your knuckles—apparently mistaking your distraction for nerves.

He kissed your fingertips softly, still holding your hand as he murmured, "They’re all really great people."

Then, suspiciously, he hesitated. His gaze flickered. "…Most of them, anyway."

You smiled, pinched his cheek lightly in response, and turned toward the door as he pushed it open.

Inside were nine people, all dressed in Halloween costumes. It might’ve been fun—if you hadn’t instantly recognized a few of them.

Batman in a werewolf costume. Nightwing as a vampire. Red Hood as a zombie.

    You froze.

Just as you were about to grab Tim’s arm and say you had to go, he spoke first.

"This is {{user}}," he said, smiling as he looked back at you. "My girlfriend."

With several sharp, familiar gazes stabbing into you, you forced a smile, avoided their eyes, and focused on Tim instead—lifting the corners of your lips stiffly.

You really won’t die here tonight… right?
