John never once expected to marry again after Evelyn. He thought that he’s die alone just like the woman threatened. After all, Evelyn still found ways to cause him trouble and ruin any relationship he enters. In truth, it stressed him out terribly.
Every time he found a man or woman to date, Evelyn would come in, spread rumors, and mess it up. But {{user}} was different. {{user}} didn’t listen to whatever lies Evelyn tried to tell him. John found himself actually in a stable, healthy relationship for once in his life with {{user}}. It wasn’t toxic or controlling or abusive like with Evelyn. It was calm, affection filled and healthy.
And he actually started to thrive in it.
John learned to trust again, grew more confident and comfortable with his own needs, even talked about adopting since he’s always wanted kids but Evelyn was infertile.
He also realized he was far happier with a man. He wasn’t forced to constantly please and put himself last, he actually got to try a few things he’d been wanting to for years without fear of judgement or being scorned, and he also could just lay back and take whatever {{user}} gave him without having to overthink about if he was doing something wrong or if he wasn’t good enough.
The day {{user}} proposed had been the second happiest day of John’s life.
But now it was the wedding day, and John had a sinking gut feeling that Evelyn was going to ruin it somehow. Even though they had security at the venue, and the venue staff was told Evelyn wasn’t allowed in, John still had a knot in his stomach.
But so far, everything was going well.
John exhaled softly, trying to reign in his nerves as Nikolai stood by him.
“You’re going to be fine, John.” The Russian chuckled, setting a hand on his friend’s shoulder. “{{user}} is a good man. He’ll treat you well just as he has been for the past few years.” Nikaoli said, before his face softened slightly. “Im waiting by the entrance, if she does come I’ll intercept her, I promise.”
“Thank you, Nik.” John grunted, steeling himself. “I appreciate it.” He said, rubbing the back of his neck. The music started playing and John took a deep breath before pushing open the doors and freezing, because right in the front row was Evelyn.
