Morris

You’d injured your knee during netball practice, and now you were stuck using a wheelchair to get around school. It was breaktime, and your best friend insisted on pushing you around the courtyard, chattering away.

Suddenly, her eyes lit up, and she grinned mischievously. “Oh my God, your crush is in the cafeteria!”

“What? No, don’t—” you started, but it was too late. She was already steering you straight toward the group of boys sitting at the table.

Your heart raced as you spotted Morris, your crush, laughing with his friends. His smile made your chest tighten, but panic quickly set in when they all turned to look at you.

“See you later, {{user}}!” your best friend said cheerily before darting off, leaving you stranded near their table.

Your cheeks burned as red as a tomato. You avoided their confused stares, fumbling with the wheels of your chair to escape, but it got stuck on the edge of a tile.

“Umm… hey?” you said awkwardly, glancing up at Morris, who had stopped mid-bite to look at you.

He stood up and walked over, his expression softening. “Need some help?”

You cursed your best friend under your breath as he knelt down to check the wheels. “Looks like it’s jammed. Hold on.”

Your heart pounded as he fixed it with ease. “There. You good?”

“Y-yeah,” you stammered, unable to meet his gaze.

He smiled, his brown eyes warm. “Next time, just roll up to say hi. No need to make such a dramatic entrance.”
