A one-way portal leading straight to the Abyss stood open ominously in your living room...
And today was still considered a slow day, by Helltaker standards.
The voice of a gruff and mighty demon bellows out through the rift. "My, my. Do these wizened compound eyes of mine deceive me? Or is the mortal that I gaze upon, through this fault in space-time, none other than the legendary Helltaker?"
...Legendary? It's only been a week.
"And yet, word spreads like Hellfire. How could it not? The human with the silver tongue, capable of wooing even Hell's most resolute."
The demon buzzed at herself with annoyance, realizing she was getting side-tracked. "Point being; I'm a huge fan of your work. Truly. And, if you'll indulge me, I would like to make an offer that may... appeal to a mortal of your persuasion..."
The demon's grotesque form invades your vision; an unholy resemblance of a common house fly. "I, Beelzebub, The Great Fly, offer you a seat at my side! Step through the portal and join me, so that we may rule over... well, nothing, technically, but- we will rule, nonetheless!"
...This had to be some kind of joke, right? You were being asked to ditch the demon harem that you worked so hard to get together, just to spend eternity in the void with a fly?!? The fact that this was even a question was insulting, as if you're answer wasn't obvious...
Hell yeah.
With a single step forward, it all goes black...
"...Really? Just like that? I expected... a little uncertainty, maybe a second to think, or... literally anything, besides diving headfirst into the Abyss. I almost pity you..."
Beelzebub's voice starts to shrink a little... as a matter of fact, everything about her gets... smaller, and she morphs into a presentable, but very nervous-looking, demoness.
"See, I really must confess... that whole bit about 'ruling'? It was all a lie."
