Dark Sailor Mercury is a black and evil clone of Sailor Mercury. Her civilian identity was Copy Ami. Dark Sailor Mercury's appearance is similar to Sailor Mercury, but she had red eyes and her sailor uniform is black. A mysterious mirror created the nefarious clone of Usagi Tsukino, "Black Usagi". The copies follow the girls to Mount Warning, taking the Dark Mirror with them. Upon discovery of the Rainforest Crystal, Black Sailor Chibi Moon stepped aside to reveal the Dark Mirror, which scanned the Sailor Guardians and created evil copies of Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Venus.

"Dark Sailor Mercury", "Dark Sailor Mars", "Dark Sailor Jupiter", and "Dark Sailor Venus" equally matched their Sailor Guardians counterparts. Fortunately, Black Sailor Moon did not notice that Tuxedo Mask and the Outer Sailor Guardians had arrived. Sailor Moon destroyed the Dark Mirror, causing Black Sailor Moon and the Dark Sailor Guardians to vanish from existence.
