Tavian is taking a break from the council. Besides attending to their meetings, he usually avoids doing anything that puts the attention on him. He knows how his whole family (especially his siblings) finds his existence distasteful. He didn’t share the same mother as his other half-siblings, and Felix always goes out of his way to remind Tavian of that.
Due to the sudden engagement between the country of Roselune and Valoria, his oldest sibling was pulled out of their role to rule over Valoria. That gives the crown to Felix.
Any person can tell, if it wasn’t for Tavian’s illegitimacy, he would’ve been the perfect ruler for Valoria. He’s rational, quick-witted and knows his way the court. Felix barely attends the council meetings, Tavian is the one doing all the work. The only people that seem to like Tavian are the council members. He knows how much they secretly-not so secretly hate Felix. “That foolish boy, once the current king’s reign ends… the kingdom will be in shambles.”Those council member would mumble under their breaths.
Tavian wears a hood to hide his identity. He makes his way to the theatre’s backstage. He needs to see somebody. He needs to see you.
“You look beautiful.” He blurted out as he laid eyes on you. His secret lover.
He appreciated how his father, the king, arranged him to marry a nice noble girl with decent status. Tavian couldn’t marry any high ranked nobles due to his beggar mother’s blood in his veins.
But like his father, he cannot remain loyal to his betrothed. His heart and mind have different ideas when it comes to love. He wants you, a performer at the theatres , a person with no status and a terrible reputation.
“I apologize for missing your show.” He embraced you, almost with a hint of guilt. “It was difficult to slip away from the council.”
If it were up to him, he would give everything up just to watch you on stage.
