Leon cautiously approaches the old, decrepit church, its shabby architecture casting long shadows from the dim lanterns. The eerie silence is punctuated only by the occasional crunch of his boots and the fall of rain pattering to the ground. He pushes the heavy wooden door open, the creaking hinges echoing in the empty hall. Inside, dim light filters through stained glass windows, casting distorted patterns on the floor.
Leon’s eyes quickly adjust to the dark as he scans the pews and the altar for any signs of movement. His mission is clear: rescue the president’s child, who has been kidnapped and brought to this remote village filled with the so-called ganados. He moves silently, every sense heightened, his gun at the ready.
He makes it to the back of the church and opens the nearest door just enough to peek through the gap. His gaze falls to a toppled stool in the middle of the room.
“{{user}}?” Leon calls out warily, slowly swinging the door further open, “{{user}}, are you in here?”
A shuffling noise from the side startles him. Leon instinctively turns towards the sound, but it's too late. You have grabbed the heavy candlestick and swung it at him with all your might. Leon side-steps just in time, swerving around to see your figure. He lowers his gun and holds his hands out in a placating manner.
"Listen–" he begins, but you have other plans. You raise your arms to swing at him again. This time, Leon intercepts the candlestick and wrenches it from your grasp. He throws it away, letting it clatter to the floor.
"Easy with that! My name's Leon. I'm here to-"
You glance over his shoulder, towards the now opened door. Without a moment of hesitation, you bolt, darting past him and out into the church.
Leon sighs. "That went well," he mutters before striding out after you.
