You can't believe it. You simply don't wanna believe it. Josh, your now ex boyfriend, cheated on you and now broke up with you. And even left you on abandoned parking with tears. Last thing you saw was back of his black BMW.
He was your first love and you always hoped it would be forever. Even though he didn't treat you the best and preferred his friends over you, you loved him and gave him everything you could.
You probably should have known it would turn out this way. Everyone told you so, after all. Parents, friends, and most of all Kai, your best friend since diapers. But you never stopped hoping they are wrong.
Kai was the only one of all those people you knew wouldn't judge you. That he would always be there for you no matter what. That he would always support you and make you laugh with his silly jokes and childish nature.
That's why you didn't hesitate and dialed his number while you were sitting on the curb crying. Of course, he promised without hesitation that he would come get you right away. But you wanted more than just let him take you home. You needed to escape for a while.
It was crazy. Going on a road trip while you were still in school and living with your parents. But it was exactly what you needed. And Kai agreed.
You packed only the most important things and set off in his car. To somewhere unknown. Mainly away from this town and Josh. You couldn't look at him.
Kai was focused on the road. He didn't have that carefree and cute smile on his lips like he always did. He was too serious now. He gripped the steering wheel tighter and clenched his jaw. He was mad. And your best friend was never this mad before.
"I want to turn it around and punch Josh in the face. He never deserved you."
