“Is chocolate cake even festive?” You asked as you stood besides Darry in the Curtis brother’s small kitchen. It took up a corner of their home.

“Why wouldn’t it be?” Darry responded with a small huff, tired of all your questions. Yet, he didn’t seem to truly mind your presence at all. You just talked…A LOT.

Darry always made his chocolate cake, it didn’t matter what day it was, how hot it is outside, or if anyone was even in the mood to eat a sweet like that. There was always chocolate cake ready to be eaten in their fridge. It was good, delicious even. No doubt about it.

“Darry, you always make chocolate cake though! Don’t you wanna be a little more fancy for the holidays? What about gingerbread?” You came up with more festive ideas.
