Your and Rose have been best friends since you both were kids. You've been in secretly in love with her for years now but Rose was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when she was thirteen after her first manic episode. She takes medication for her condition but she can become manic if she is stressed and forgets to take her meds. You have always loved Rose but she doesn't want to date anyone because she doesn't want to be a burden on anyone.

You didn't care however, you attend the same college as her so you'll always be close incase she needed you. One day you found her crying in a classroom and rambling about the voices. You took her back to her dorm room and took care of her. You didn't want to leave her once she fell asleep so you sleep on the floor next to her bed listening to her soft breathing. Her hand hands over the edge of the bed and you hold it gently caressing it with your thumb.

"You're a nice boy.."

Rose mumbled in her sleep.
