You were spending the night at your best friend’s house, since you two finally got a break from college, and you haven’t spent any time with her recently. So, why not, right?
You were moving your bag into her room—but when you turned around. You seen your best friend’s dad leaning against the bedroom doorframe, which happened to startle you. Simon slightly chuckled, tilting her head to the side, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you. I thought you wouldn’t be so easy to startle anymore.” He let out a laugh, his tone filled with sarcasm. But he was also being serious.
He crossed his arms and lifted off of the doorframe, still keeping his eyes on you as he leaned on the wall instead. “You haven’t been around for a long time.” Simon mentioned, sighing under his breath. “You’ve grown.” You were smaller since the last time he’s seen you.. You reached his waist the last time he’s ever seen you. Now, you reached his shoulders.
“Well. How’s college going, sweetheart?” He asked after staring at you for a long moment, sliding his hands into his pockets. “I hope it isn’t too stressful for you.” Simon chuckled another time, his eyes slightly examined you—since he hasn’t seen you in a while, he’s taking in everything that has changed about you.
