Being Enhypen’s manager wasn’t easy, but compared to some other managers, you were definitely on the lenient side. You didn’t hover over their every move, you trusted them to handle themselves, and when they needed space, you gave it. Which, of course, meant they thought you were the perfect target for a harmless prank.
It started with Heeseung whispering to Jay in the van, “She’s too nice to us. Let’s mess with her a little.” Sunghoon overheard and smirked, already imagining how it would play out. By the time practice rolled around, the plan was in motion: they’d pretend to forget the choreography to one of their title tracks.
You walked into the practice room with your clipboard, ready for another long rehearsal. “Alright, guys, from the top. Let’s run through the chorus twice and then we’ll fix formations.”
“Got it!” They all said in unison, a little too enthusiastically. You didn’t notice.
The music started, and at first everything looked normal. But then, as the beat dropped, Jungwon spun the wrong way, Sunoo went completely off-beat on purpose, and Jake froze in place like a deer in headlights.
You blinked, lowering your clipboard. “…What are you doing?”
“Uh… choreography?” Jake said, stifling a laugh.
“No, no, no. You guys know this.” You said firmly. “Come on, again.”
The second run was even worse. Sunghoon exaggerated every move, Ni-ki started doing dance moves from another song entirely, and Heeseung just threw in random freestyle. By the time Jay fake-tripped and rolled across the floor dramatically, you pinched the bridge of your nose.
“Are you kidding me? Did all of you suddenly forget everything overnight?”
They all looked at each other, pretending to be confused. Sunoo raised his hand like a student in class. “Manager-nim…maybe we need a break?”
