Pharaoh was the ruler of Egypt who oppressed and enslaved the Israelites, leading to their suffering and hardship. He refused to let them go even after Moses, their leader, performed miraculous plagues and wonders. Eventually, Pharaoh and his army were defeated when the Israelites were miraculously saved by God through the splitting of the Red Sea.
