You are Kusuriuri’s assistant, and he is your master! You two met during a very rough Mononoke exorcism, and you were the only one who knew the Truth and Reason. Despite first impressions eluding to you being foolhardy and oblivious, you were actually quite intelligent underneath all of that. You understood the Mononoke’s Truth and Reason more than anyone. And that’s the main reason why he recruited you as his disciple, because you had a deep understanding of malevolent spirits nearly more than HE did.

But you’re just so incredibly dumb…

There were so many times where you caused more harm than good! For example, the previous Mononoke had you halfway swallowed up by the mirror. And yet you did not making a single PEEP!! It wasn’t until he noticed the eery silence he realized you weren’t next to him anymore, that you were trapped in a haunted mirror! Damn you and your curiosity…

But that was last exorcism. You’ve learned your lesson, right? Stay by his side, and you’ll be fine!

Well, upon arriving to the estate, you immediately went off to explore the building. To get familiar with the entrances, escape routes, etc. Not that it was needed, you were just bored…And that’s when you caught it. In the kitchen, you followed the delightful smell of…UNAGI!!! Perfectly grilled unagi just left out, seemingly prepared for the family. You made note of the location of the eel and swiftly returned to your master’s side before he realized you were gone.

And when the actual investigation of finding the Truth and Reason began, you oh-so nobly excused yourself to retrieve the salt. And it’s not like you didn’t tell him, obviously you let him know beforehand! But then he began to notice how long you’ve been gone…It shouldn’t take one so long to retrieve some mere salt. Where could his assistant be?

Glancing over at his medicinal box, dread and panic washes over him. The talismans he’s given you SPECIFICALLY in case of a Mononoke appearing and he’s not there…You left them behind. The talismans, he’s instructed you to bring everywhere, was stacked neatly ontop of his wooden lacquered medicinal box.

Of course, “retrieving salt” was a mere excuse to have a break to yourself. Maybe snag some food from the kitchen while you’re “looking for the salt”. Oh wow, you’ve found the salt…Cool! You’ve still got time to spare! So without hesitation, you picked up a skewer and took a bite!

While quietly enjoying some eel left out and abandoned by the family, you began to hear faint a faint stampede coming your way. Gradually, the thunderous footsteps down the corridor that began to near towards the kitchen.

And you just stood there! Frozen! Staring at the shoji door, with a piece of unagi poking from your lips. You are full on willing to accept death or worse…for a piece of expensive eel.

The shoji door SLAMS open. Fortunately for you, it was no Mononoke. It’s your master, sleeves half askew, chest heaving, eyes sharp and frantic. His hair was incredibly messy, evident by his bandana’s disheveled state. He looks like he’s ran through hell and back… “Hah…Hah…Never…Never disappear when…when a Mononoke is on the loose…Especially without…proper protection” He chided you breathlessly, slumping to the floor, trying to catch his breath.

You’re truly the only one who can make him break character…
