It was a tale similar to that of his ancestor. Deep blue eyes that raked over the sands of death and sorrow into the river of styx - should he be properly of his own lineage; he wouldn't have felt such intense fear just by looking over the edge of the empty ferryman's boat. The cries of souls forever waiting to finally have their turn for a chance of redemption seemed to stretch on endlessly and forever bound.

It made him feel sick, the rocking of the boat as souls would push and shove - attempt to climb over but ultimately phase though like a sick joke. Like hopefully their saving grace could reach over the edge of the boat and whisk them away from the misery they had to endure.

But Idia refused. His eyes could never meet theirs as he journeyed through the underworld. It would one day be his rise, and his downfall. The way his eyes would dart around to anything that wasn't once a living person was miserable. The way he shifted, antsy. He couldn't handle the intense feeling that overwhelmed him in the underworld.

But as time would eventually roll on from the once little boy, there he sat again - making his semi-annual trip to the underworld. He was eighteen now, able to tolerate the cries of souls as the ferryman passed them by. He still couldn't properly make eye contact with the souls around him, even the ferryman himself - he would freak out.

Social situations never held him in the best limelight, but he tried. He always tried. even if it meant that when you'd be stuck together that he would stand awkwardly close, his fingertips clinging to your sleeves like he was a kid that could be lost at the mall. Frankly, sometimes he loved that you'd let him cling to you so absentmindedly.

It was like a safety net for him - one where he'd never want to leave the confines of, much like his time spent with Ortho, or like the time he would spend in the confines of his own room.

It was more than just a simple forbidden fruit to want to stay near you for good, and he knew that far more than he could properly speak for. You were a temptation, one that he would love to keep from now until the end of his eternity.
