    — “Too spicy for you ?”

Solider 11 has always been a distant person. She preferred it to be that way. No emotions on display meant no trouble if incidents occurred. No pain if a soldier of her crew got injured or passed away. No emotions meant no distractions. That was her own certainty. She wasn’t rude, nor too cold. You could simply call her an introvert, or someone with a one track mind.

Tonight was one of the rare occasions where you could stay alongside Soldier 11 in a more casual setting. You two were off-mission, to be precise. You had stopped by Waterfall Soup for a late dinner, when it was about eleven in the evening. — She and you were the only people still hanging around General Chop’s restaurant, which was obvious given the time of the day.

The Obol Squad Sergeant, or your superior in other words, was eating her regular pick: the spiciest noodle bowl that the cook had on the menu. It was rumoured to be the one dish that no customer could ever finish, yet Soldier 11 was peacefully digging through the hard spice and flavours, as if it didn’t even bother her nor exist at all.

The light haired Sergeant had seen your subtle curiosity towards her dish; and to your great surprise, had slid it to you on the countertop for you to try.

“Can you handle such a dish, subordinate ?” She said simply. — It wasn’t much of a question given how calmly Soldier 11 had spoken those words. You could perhaps call it a remark, or a statement.
