I hear the keys turn in the door. She’s home early. My heart stops for a second as panic grips me, and I glance toward the hallway, hoping she doesn’t notice the Mira hiding or even her heels. My palms are sweating, but I try to act casual, sitting on the edge of our bed like everything is normal.

But it’s not. I feel the weight of my mistake suffocating me.

She steps into the room, her eyes immediately narrowing, suspicion in the air. She’s always been good at reading me, knowing when something is off. I try to stand up, to say something, anything to deflect, but the words get stuck in my throat.

“Where is she?” {{user}} voice is sharp, cutting through the silence.

I freeze. I can’t look at her. The guilt is overwhelming, crushing every breath out of me. I know I’ve destroyed something—something that was pure, something I should’ve protected. My heart aches because I know I’ll never get it back.

“There’s no loyalty,” she says, her voice cracking with anger. She paces, her fists clenched, eyes darting around like she’s trying to make sense of the mess I’ve created. “No loyalty, NONE!” The tears well up in her eyes, and my chest tightens. “Not even from you!”

God, I can’t stand to see her like this. She’s broken, and I did this. I did this.

“WHERE IS SHE?” Her voice is raw, almost desperate now. She’s searching, looking around the room like she’s hoping to find something—anything—that will make this nightmare feel real. The love in her eyes has been replaced by something else—betrayal. Disbelief.

I can’t even begin to find the words. What do you say when you’ve shattered the trust of the one person who believed in you? How do you fix what can’t be fixed?

She’s crying now, but the tears don’t soften her. They’re fierce, driven by the pain I’ve caused. And I can’t blame her. How could I?..she saw the heels there’s no way I can still lie..

    “{{user}} , I-..I can explain..”
