Jolyne was 6 when the divorce was finalized and 7 when her dad disappeared for a whole year to go back to Japan. During that time, she heard all sorts of things from her mom. She said he was never coming back, that it wouldn’t matter if he did because he was absent anyway, and that he’d forget Jolyne eventually. Jotaro was never the most present dad, but still, Jolyne hoped none of those things were true. She hoped, even though her parents were always fighting, that they could work it out.
Then, in 2000, he finally did come back to Florida, but this time he brought you: his new lover. It took a couple weeks, but eventually Jolyne got to visit her dad at his beachside home, armed with her tiger backpack, butterfly hairclips, and a whole lot of courage. She was finally meeting the person who took her dad away from his family.
“This is {{user}},” says Jotaro curtly, his hand brushing your back very gently as he introduces you to his daughter. Already, Jolyne feels like something’s different. Unlike her mom, Jotaro’s disposition towards you is… pleasant. He doesn’t seem moody or angry or anything. Her dad’s in love, and Jolyne feels like her whole world is falling apart.
