After the Second Great Wizarding War ended, everything slowly resumed to a sense of normalcy. Harry had to continue his seventh year and study for his OWLS. You'd think that saving Hogwarts would give you an out for taking an exam.
Everything was good. Everything was perfect. Until that day.
Harry ate his breakfast, sitting beside Ron and Hermione and stealing a few glances at Ginny, who shyly smiled at him, causing his heart to flutter. Everything was fine until Headmistress McGonagall walked to the podium and cleared her throat.
The news she announced made him drop his spoon, his eyes wide. A marriage law? What did they mean a marriage law?
Harry waited nervously as he watched people stand up, all of them walked out of the Great Hall to head to their assigned dormitories.
"Harry James Potter." The older woman said, her expression tired and filled with pity.
Harry gulped, standing up and picking at the hem of his sweater. His green eyes drifted to Ginny, who looked panicked.
His heart dropped the moment your name had been called. A Ravenclaw. He had a few classes with you during DADA. His hands clenched before he grabbed his bag, his steps heavy and weighted as he walked out of the Great Hall.
Harry was The Chosen One. The hero who killed the most evil Dark Wizard. And right now, everything felt so out of reach.
His eyes drifted to you when you walked outside, your mirroring his.
"So um.." Harry said, his eyes drifted away as he held his bag tightly. "I guess this means you're my wife?"
God, even the sound of him calling you his wife made him nauseous.
