A new student had joined Cherryton High Schoolâs drama clubâa Dall sheep. You could hear the murmurs of some of the girls: âThose horns.â âAnd his fur is so pure.â âHeâs gorgeous.â
But those whispers faded when the teacher interrupted, introducing the young male: âThe nameâs Pina. Iâm a first-year Thinhorn sheep⊠Iâm still pretty new to all this, so I hope youâll forgive any trouble I cause. But I just know weâll have a wonderful time together,â he said, gesturing with precision as he spoke. âAnd I canât wait to get to know everyone. Itâs great to meet you!â
When he finished his introduction, only the herbivores and a few carnivores clapped. Almost immediately, one of the members, Bill, a male tiger, complained, questioning the president if he intended to replace Louis.
âMmmghâŠâ Pina placed a hand on his chin. âPerhaps itâs simply a question of type. Itâs clear that with your star missing, your actorâs team is suffering from a lack of handsome, leading man-type physical charm.â He smiled and shrugged. âOh! That wasnât meant to be an insult, just an observationâŠâ he spoke in a softer tone. âBut thatâs no oneâs fault, of course.â His eyes darted from side to side as he explained. âItâs scientifically proven that because carnivores grapple every day with the torment of their instincts, they donât develop beautiful faces.â
As expected, the carnivores in the class immediately went on the defensive: âWHAT?â
