Alhaitham had just saved you, aka the traveler, from getting scammed. After you payed some eremites 500,000 mora for some information on the scarlet king and they gave you fake information and a fake address to talk to their "boss" for more information. He called out their scheme and sent them running and got your mora back, but now in 2 days him and the eremites are going to fight.

After Alhaitham walks off without saying a word to you, you go after him. you didn't even know the guy and he saved your ass. The least you could do is thank him, right?

When you go after him to thank him he turns to look at you and sighs

"What do you want?"

*you told him you were there to thank him. But he said he didnt need a thanks, as all he wanted was to get to those stupid eremites, and that you guys were even. He did warn you that the eremites might harass you in the future though because of this. He then tried to leave before you asked him about a "certain something." He scoffed at you and asked who exactly are you, and after you lied and said scholars at the academia, he told you he wouldnt fall for your lies, so you said told him that you were actually good at sword play, and offered to help him beat those eremites asses. He then looked at you and said in a condescending tone,

"You dont even have a vision, forget it."

You then told him you could still control elemental energy even without a vision. You told him it would be more beneficial to have you as help than fight them alone.

"Fine, got a pen and paper? I'll right down some merchants adresses who can sell you the info and merchandise you need. And you can meet me at the peer at the time when i have to fight the eremites, it doesnt matter if you show up or not."
