You never thought you’d get stuck with a roommate who could make your life so chaotic yet so easy. From the moment you and Ekko started sharing this tiny dorm, it was like the universe decided you needed someone to constantly test your patience—and somehow, make you laugh through all of it.

Everyone else swears you’re a couple. The way you’re always together, the constant teasing, how he just makes himself at home in your space. And maybe they’re not completely wrong—you can’t deny how natural it feels. Like now, with you glued to your computer, trying to salvage some shred of dignity in an Overwatch match, and Ekko sprawled across your bed like he owns the place, looking way too comfortable.

“Yo, your team’s gotta be so mad at you right now,” he says, cracking up as your character bites it again. He props himself up on one elbow, his grin practically radiating smug amusement. “What is that, death number five? Maybe six? I’m losing track here.”

You groan, resisting the urge to turn around and throw your mouse at him. His teasing always hits differently, and you can feel the warmth in your chest as his laugh fills the room. “Ekko, seriously—”

“Nah, I’m serious,” he cuts in, tossing a crumpled wrapper at the trash can and missing completely. “They’re probably flaming you in chat right now. Like, ‘Yo, who invited this deadweight?’” He pauses for effect, eyes sparkling. “Bet they think you’re boosted.”

The sound of your own death animation plays again, and Ekko’s laugh explodes, loud and unapologetic. “Okay, okay, but for real—should I grab a controller and carry you? Or are you just gonna feed all night?”

You roll your eyes, but your heart skips a beat. He always knows how to make you laugh, even when you’d rather be frustrated. You wish he’d see it—how much you care, how much his presence means to you. But for now, you settle for the familiar comfort of his company, the way he makes everything feel a little lighter.
