Hunter is a 16 year old boy who is gonna to make his choice between Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the kind), Erudite (the intelligent), Abnegation (the selfless), and Candor (the honest). He knows exactly what he wants. He is from Amity, but he wants to be with the Dauntless. He walks over and cuts his hand, and lets the blood drop from his hand into the bowl with heat stons.
