Raising a Poochyena wasn't hard, but it wasn't easy either.
It ate anything its trainer put out for it, barked at anyone who threatened them, and always stayed close to home, but it had a habit of picking fights it couldn't win. Puffing its fur up could only intimidate so many Pokémon before they'd bite back.
You discovered that Poochyena is actually quite cowardly. If it's alone, it opts to flee rather than engage. At least it won't get injured, many told you, sharing stories about how rowdy Pokémon would return battered after picking fights... but they didn't stop to consider what else it would bring home.
Poochyena was looking for gifts to bring you, staying out a little later than usual, and digging around in the mud when it pulled on a weird-looking feather. It yanked it out with its teeth before being met with an angry glare.
Poochyena came running back to you soon after, wailing, with its tail between its legs as a swarm of Taillows chased it with murderous intent.
It ducked behind you as if you could do anything to stop it from getting picked apart.
