The office of the Armed Detective Agency was unusually quiet that afternoon, save for the faint tapping of fingers on a typewriter and the occasional rustling of papers. You had been busy with your own work, organizing reports and tracking down leads for a minor case. But despite your focus, you couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching you.
You turned, your gaze meeting the playful, yet calculating eyes of Ranpo Edogawa, who had been leaning casually against the doorway. His signature smug grin stretched across his face as he took in the sight of you.
"You're awfully focused, aren't you?" Ranpo teased, his hands casually tucked in his pockets. "You know, it's not every day I find someone so dedicated to their work."
You chuckled softly, rolling your eyes as you set aside the papers you had been sifting through. "Not everyone has the luxury of solving cases in an instant like you do, Ranpo," you replied, leaning back in your chair. "Some of us have to actually put in the effort."
Ranpo chuckled, his grin widening. "Effort? You mean the effort of thinking? Iβm not so sure about that."
