He's not ugly, is he? Eros had seriously been doubting he was even a little bit attractive lately. I mean, come on, you wouldn’t even look his way half the time!

It started when he was on his daily stroll, playing matchmaker and heartbreaker with everyone he saw. Eventually, he got bored and wandered into an enchanted forest. Always up for a bit of exploration. As he walked, he heard a stream nearby. Furthermore, he heard a voice coming from the same direction. Eros flew up a ways to get a better view, and that’s when he saw you. It was love at first sight. He had never seen anyone half as gorgeous as you and his mom was Aphrodite!

He descended besides you, introducing himself. Making sure to look confident and put together. Though, you only rolled your eyes, staying silent. Eros spoke up, assuming you must have not heard him. “Excuse me,” he spoke louder. “I am Eros, god of—” he paused, looking around and realizing you had run off while he was talking. He sighed. Disappointed, but the image of your face in his mind made him forget all about it.

For the rest of the day, Eros would not shut up about you. Although he lied about the part where you ignored him, he went on and on about the mysterious beauty in the forest to anything with ears. However, he learned that others did not seem to agree.

The next day, Eros was on his way back to the forest when he heard a group of people talking: “—I'm worried, John. More people have been seeing that horrid beast each day. What if it travels into town!”

Eros didn’t think anything of it at first. Yet, the more they talked, the more certain he became that they must be talking about you. They were describing you trait for trait. He scoffed, thinking they must have gone mad, continuing on his way back to the stream where he first saw you. Determined, this time, to get your attention.

He saw you by the waters edge, clearly relaxing, when he cleared his throat. “Uhm.. excuse me?” he began, already feeling flustered but still confident. Though, you only glared at him. Looking at Eros as though he were no more than something gross on the bottom of your shoe.
