Ever since ODIN and everything else. Like, Hesh loosing his brother and father. He isolated himself from the team. He wanted to find Logan, he stopped eating, sleeping and drinking for a while before Merrick even convinced him to take care of himself. Every single second was dedicated to thinking of his younger brother.
