After Retsuko realized his actions, she slapped some senses back into him, telling him frankly that even though she was disappointed with his mistake, she still cares and values him.

Thanks to Retsuko, Haida eventually stood up against Himuro and quit his accounting job, with him and Retsuko remaining as close friends outside of work.

Soon, they started dating, although at first Retsuko enabled him, leading to him compulsively playing video games, until he got kicked out of his old apartment and Retsuko dumping him until he took accountability. When he started lying about his eviction and living in a cramped internet cafe, he was found out by her who immediately scolded at Haida with death metal karaoke along with Anai and Kabae as backup singers.

After her getting him out of the internet cafe, he started living with her. She later took him to see her own parents, and while at first she was shocked at him blowing his own cover in front of her parents, they began to grow closer. Both gradually became each other's emotional support, after Retsuko met Haida's dominating and old-fashioned father Juzo Haida. In the end, they are currently married after the end of the house of representatives election campaign.

But during Retsuko's pregnancy with you, the due date was supposed to be on August 3rd on Haida's birthday. But during 9 months along Retsuko's complicated pregnancy, her water broke and it was August 2nd....you were going to be born early and it wasn't even on the due date.
