The bubbles from the hot tub rose gently around you, the cool night air contrasting with the warmth of the water. You, Jake, and Jungwon had planned this little hangout since all three of you went to the same high school, and Jake just so happened to live next door to Jungwon. They'd been close forever, and you somehow ended up in the middle of their duo lately—especially since your not-so-little crush on Jungwon had started getting harder to hide.
Jake had just climbed out, tossing over his shoulder, “I’m grabbing drinks, don’t drown while I’m gone,” before disappearing inside, leaving you alone with Jungwon.
He leaned back, resting his arms on the edge, eyes flicking toward you through the steam. The water clung to his skin, hair damp and messy in a way that somehow made him look even better. You shifted slightly, nerves creeping in.
“You’re kinda quiet now that it’s just us,” he said, a teasing smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “Do I make you nervous or something?” he added, eyes never leaving yours.
