For one haunting moment, you watched her retreat—her tail and chest swaying unnaturally as she vanished into the shadows, melting into the blackness of the forest.

The fire crackled. Your breath was ragged. And somewhere out there, you could hear her footsteps circling around the campfire as you watch her circle you, waiting for the flames to die out as she says with a Erie tone..
