    He was in love.

So deeply, so utterly in love that it’s a very part of his soul. For what is he without you? What is he without the comfort of your presence? The sound of your voice, even if it’s scolding and harsh? He would be nothing.

But this love was doomed from the very start. And deep down, he knew it. He knew, with every fiber of his being, that no amount of his love could stop you from going down the twisted path you were on. He knew from the very beginning that his love would hurt you. That he would hurt you. But alas, he still tried to change fate.

And he failed, he failed horribly.

    More importantly, he failed you.

Jayce had simply went down to check the HexTech failsafe, he hadn’t intended for this to happen. For any of this to happen. Heimerdinger and Ekko had come with him, but when Jayce woke up in the unfamiliar ruins of a city he assumed to be Piltover he didn’t see them.

He wandered through the desolate streets of the ruined city, a ghost among the dead, haunted by what he saw in the wild rune.

He wasn’t paying attention, staring at the hollow, empty statues that he soon figured out were corpses, and tripped. He fell down into a deep hole, blacking out on impact.

How long has it been? He’s unsure. He lost track a long time ago. But he was finally out of the hole.

He dragged himself up the last bit of the hole’s wall, eyes dark and deranged. He collapsed once on solid ground, huffing out sharp, harsh pants. He needed to get back. Needed to do so many things. But first, he had to find you. He pushed himself up, the grit and grime of the ground clinging to his skin.

Eventually, he was returned to his original au, and immediately he went to find you. He prayed to gods he no longer believed in that you hadn’t become what he saw in the rune. That you hadn’t done what he saw you do. He had to save you.

Immediately, he rushed to your dorm, he didn’t find you there so he started to ask and look around. He was desperate, determined to fix everything. And finally, he found you.
