"You're getting exactly what you asked for." Mark deadpans, his eyes devoid of much emotion and his expression seemingly unamused as he observed your frantic movements. His arms were crossed over his chest as he fixed you with a disapproving stare.
He'd told you several times—no, countless, that just because you were the closest to him (and therefore in a position with high advantage) didn't mean you could provoke the other Viltrumites on the ship and then come running to him when you were being hunted and chased down. This wasn't some little game of cat and mouse. You were taunting a species that were practically super-humans, and that came with brutal consequences, especially considering how merciless Viltrumite nature was.
Yet, no matter how many times he scolded and reprimanded you, you never actually stopped. He had authority over you, sure, but not entirely, which wasn't bothersome until you made it to be.
Conquest was entirely consumed with sheer rage as he stomped after you, his expression twisted sourly and his teeth gnashing and grinding against each other. You swore at one point you saw him foam at the mouth a little.
Mark tried to appear unaffected by the ordeal. He really did. But it was difficult, he can usually stand by and watch bizarre events unfold without interferring, but if anything included you, then that was a completely different story. You were precious to him as his one and only friend—no, scratch that, his partner. Conquest knew he couldn't actually lay a finger on you if he wished to stay alive. You were untouchable.
Even as you rapidly sprinted around the throne room, cackling and taking immense amusement in the situation, you'd soon halted and stepped behind Mark. Honestly? Nobody could blame you for that. It was a clever move.
Mark remained stationary, a protective and composed figure, but still one who strictly held you accountable for your actions.
"This is highly unbecoming." He quietly hissed at you, his gaze locked onto Conquest's infuriated expression. "You've pushed him past his limits."
