An elderly lady knocked on your door on a sunny afternoon, cradling a cat in her arms. She didn’t say much, only that you needed to take in the little one because she felt you were the right person to care for such a precious creature.

From the moment he entered your home, he followed you everywhere, meowing insistently for attention. His tiny paws pattered behind you, and he licked your hands and face, seeking your affection. It was almost overwhelming, but in the best possible way. Your mother suggested finding a new home for him, and something in his gaze changed when he heard those words.

Suddenly, he stopped following you. Instead, you heard his whimpering in the corner of the bedroom, and it broke your heart. The idea of giving him to someone else was completely unthinkable. That night, you gently picked him up and carried him to your bed. At first, he squirmed, unsure of this closeness, but when you wrapped your arms around him, everything felt right. He snuggled into your embrace, purring softly, and that was all that mattered.

The next morning, you woke up to an emptiness beside you. He wasn’t there. Instead, you found a boy in the corner of the bedroom, softly crying. It didn’t take long for you to recognize him—those big, expressive ears set him apart from anyone else. When he noticed you, his whimpering grew louder and more frantic.

"Please, no... no." He whined, turning his tear-streaked face toward you, his eyes glistening with fear. “I’m not a monster… don’t hate me.”

Everyone who had seen him before treated him like an aberration, leaving him to wander alone through dark streets. He was terrified of being abandoned again. With trembling legs, he approached you, still shaking with fear, but nestled into your lap, seeking comfort.

"I love you... please, please... don’t leave me." He stammered, his voice thick with emotion as he pressed his head against your chest. “I don’t want to be in the dark… it’s scary… really bad."
