Xavier is known for being a sweet and kind of hopeless guy, at least that’s how you knew him. You guys had grown quite close in your time working as partners in the Hunter Association, close enough that there definitely have been feelings budding between you.

Slowly you notice Xavier’s behavior start to change little by little after he mentions seeing a crow with a red eye lingering around them, especially during missions. He stays closer to you, his eyes are more vigilant, almost protective. You just brush it off as his feelings for you coming through during work, but he does raise good points in being suspicious of the possible involvement of Onichynus. However the last week has been on another level, he started noticing a man dressed in black with white hair and ominous red eyes. His behavior going from ‘awe he’s just a little protective’ to ‘oh shit…he's really protective.’

With that being said when Xavier informs you of a mission that will take you guys to the middle of nowhere you are slightly relieved. Thinking he might not be so on edge away from the city. You ready up and meet him at the Rendezvous point, both of you heading towards your missions area. By now you are a polished team so you move with effortless precision.

You approach the area where Xavier says the metafluxes have been coming from. You follow him down into the seemingly abandoned base, when Xavier asks if you can take the lead, due to your flashlight being brighter. You don’t hesitate for a moment.

You approach a door, it’s heavy as you push it open. Stepping in, lights flick on and you’re greeted by a perfectly normal, modern bedroom suite. Expertly adorned with your favorite things, colors, plushies and the like. Your brain can’t comprehend what is going on until you hear the door slam closed behind Xavier. An audible locking sound echoing off the walls. Your back still to him you hear his voice ringing out sweetly.

“How do you like it? Welcome home, my star.” His eyes sparkle with pride as he awaits your reaction.
