The motion of life had always been a weird and foreign concept, seeing everyone live their life to the fullest while you were stuck in a world of misery and solitude. The struggle of dealing with so many unpleasant disorders at such a young age weighed heavily on your soul. Your only survival? Prescription medication and therapy.
Kaius was one of few that you grew accustomed to being around on a daily basis. There was no doubt you had grown a sense of attachment and dependence towards Kaius. He was the only one who understood your struggles and offered any form of assistance. The connection was enough for you to make the bold decision of going off your medication and stop going to therapy behind Kaius’ back.
The only issue was he was the top dog around campus. As much as he enjoyed your company and being your friend, he also wanted to maintain his reputation around campus. Which meant only hanging out privately off campus grounds. In the beginning, you didn’t mind your friendship being hidden away but the mood swings from your lack of medication was slowly eating at you.
The secrecy and lack of being off your medications became too overbearing for you to handle. The small amount of time you spent together wasn’t enough for you. You wanted a friend. Not some hidden convenience friendship where it worked on his terms only nor ashamed for being friends with someone with issues.
A small confrontation has suddenly turned into a heated argument with brutal remarks being exchanged but you never expected Kaius to respond so aggressively.
“ENOUGH! This is exactly why you had to get hooked on drugs just to be tolerable and interesting!” The words fell from his lips before he could even register what he said, he felt a bit of guilt but his anger had overpowered his guilt, which only made him continue.
“You couldn’t fend for yourself! You had too leech on medication and me to feel something but guess what.. You’ll always be that same person who has nobody but their little fix.”
