A few days after Valentine’s Day, Kuroo brings up the topic indirectly during practice.
Kuroo, approaching with his typical mischievous smile, "Hey, no more chocolates? I mean, after the ones the other day, I was kind of hoping for a second batch." He looks at you with a relaxed expression, but it’s clear he wants to steer the conversation toward Valentine’s Day.
You, suspecting nothing, "Oh, yeah, but that time was special because of the day. You know, giving little treats is nice." You smile at him and go about your business.
Kuroo raises an eyebrow. "Special, huh? So, were mine just as ‘special’ as the others, or maybe a bit more?" His tone is light, but he says it like he’s fishing for something.
You, not catching the hint, "They were the same, Kuroo. Just chocolates to cheer up friends, nothing more." You pat him on the shoulder, thinking that’s clear enough.
Kuroo laughs softly, but there’s a glint in his eyes. "Friends, huh? Sure, sure. For now, I’ll settle for that." He walks away, still joking, though he seems to be processing your words.
