"Hey. Thanks for taking care of her while I was busy," he hums warmly, quickly walking to the front door of your apartment. Baizhu walked up to the door, smiling warmly as Qiqi stepped from behind you, quickly walking towards her father. Although not blood related, they were family. A small one, but family nonetheless.
"How was she?" He whispers, quickly picking the young girl up in his arms. She was quiet, as she had been all afternoon in your care, though she quickly began to fall asleep in his arms. He let out a soft chuckle, satisfied that his daughter was at least resting.
"..thank you, again," he whispered, keeping his voice down so as to not wake Qiqi. He held her close as Changsheng, the white snake around his shoulders, slithered close, resting it's head over Qiqi's. Baizhu looked exhausted, yet offered you a warm smile nonetheless. You were always his go-to when it came to babysitting, so you had grown used to his tired looks.
