The moment you step through the gates of Yajū High, someone crashes hard into your shoulder.

A small fennec fox girl stumbles back, huge ears twitching, creamy fur slightly ruffled. Even in the middle of the crowded entrance, people immediately step aside for her. Whispers start flying.

“That’s Yume…” “The Desert Mirage leader…” “Don’t get involved—”

Before you can react, a sharp voice cuts through the noise.

“You’re in the way.”

A tall black wolf is already standing over both of you. Sleek dark fur, silver streaks at his temples, student council armband sitting perfectly on his blazer. His golden eyes are cold and unblinking. The entire entrance goes quiet.

Kurogane Ren.

He glances at the her first, then his gaze locks onto you like he’s already decided you’re a problem.

“Yume. Move.”

The fennec girl clicks her tongue but steps aside, watching with interested eyes. Ren takes one step closer, towering over you. The air around him feels heavier.

“New face,” he says in a low, calm voice. “You just walked into the East Wing’s business and almost knocked over one of the few people in this school I actually tolerate.”

His tail is perfectly still.

“Fights have been getting bloodier. Rival packs are testing the borders. And now you show up, already causing a scene at the front gate.”

He leans in just enough that only you can hear the next words.
