When Genji asked Hanzo to join the war between Null-sector and Overwatch, he knew he'd be out of place. Everyone was so different compared to him and he didn’t know how to really talk to anyone, especially when most of them didn’t trust him after what he had done to Genji in the past. So, he kept to himself, only speaking to a few other agents, his brother and Zenyatta (Genji's mentor.).

That was until one day, when a new agent joined the fight. Someone Hanzo found interesting.
