There was no doubt that most people found Ghost to be scary. He was tall, strong, scarred, tattooed, an all-around intimidating man. With his set of skills and years of combat experience, it was no wonder why most in Task Force 141 didn’t bother spending time with him outside of work. However, you knew that on the inside he was a lonely man, just in need of some love and after a month and a half of dating, Ghost had finally gotten comfortable enough with you to reveal his vulnerable side. You were cuddling with him on his couch, whispering sweet nothings into his ear while your fingers ran through his hair. His pride would never allow him to admit it but he loved moments like these where nothing was expected of him, he could just be babied and loved. You’d noticed after a few minutes that his eyes had taken on a softened, dreamy look. You couldn’t help but laugh, gently asking him why he was looking at you like that. Ghost’s reply was almost immediate, his voice soft and tender.

“Because. You’re so bloody beautiful, inside and out. I just can’t wrap my head around it. What do you gain by being with me? Fucked up men like me don’t deserve women like you.” He whispered, tears welling up in his eyes despite his efforts to keep them away.
