βWhat is it, sergeant?β Price's voice snapped Soap from his thoughts, causing him to turn on his heels and point down at the soaked cardboard box. βThir's a damn infant, Captain.β Soap spoke, his normal cocky tone was traded in for one of disbelief. βAn infant?β Price repeated, pushing Soap out of the way gently with his hip, his jaw clenched.
βWell Iβll be damned.β Price breathed out, eyes narrowing as he crouched down, grunting as the rain hit the back of his shirt and soaked through. Price gently peeled the blanket back to reveal a squirmy infant. βTheyβre young, possibly a few months.β He murmured, pressing the back of his hand to your forehead. βAnd their freezing, fucking hell.β He cursed, carefully scooping you up.
βMacTavish, find Ghost and Gaz and tell them to meet me at exfil.β Price murmured, shifting his hold, his hand holding your head firmly against his shoulder but still enough room to squirm as he snapped his fingers and pointed down towards the box. βHand me the blanket.β And at his words, Soap sprung into action, snatching the blanket up and began to poorly wrap it around you.
Price corrected it, shaking his head as he pulled his boonie hat off his head and placed it over yours, trying to use everything to keep you warm and to keep you dry. βWhat are you still doing here? Go.β Price nodded his head for Soap to run along and find the other two and he shifted his hold.
βItβs alright darlin, weβre going to get you somewhere warm, alright?β He murmured, his chin resting on your head as he swayed. The baby instincts still drilled into his head from when his two were young.
